Title: Former Research Associate
Expertise: carbon footprinting, carbon accounting
Centre: Former Staff
Dr Adolf Acquaye's research at SEI York addressed the development of environmental impact assessment and carbon accounting models. This involved methodological developments of hybrid life cycle tools and the assessment of environmental impacts of product supply chains.
He was involved with the Centre for Low Carbon Future’s Low Carbon Supply Chain project, developing an integrated Balanced Green Supply Chain Decision Support Tool for businesses. He was responsible for engaging with businesses in the mapping of their supply chains and the quantification of GHG emissions and identification of carbon hot-spots using novel robust approaches. He was also involved in the project on Bio-renewable Fuel and Materials, evaluating the environmental performance of biofuel systems.
He has a Ph.D. in engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology, an M.Phil. in engineering for sustainable development from the University of Cambridge, and a B.Sc. in electrical end electronic engineering from the University of Science and Technology, KNUST.
Dr Acquaye has moved on to the University of Sheffield, but still collaborates with SEI.
