Climate for Development – Building Institutional Capacity

climate-for-development

CforD is a large research and capacity-building programme to help achieve climate-friendly and climate-safe development in developing countries.

It supports international policy initiatives on adaptation and development, such as the SEI-led UNEP Collaborative Centre on Adaptation; climate risk assessment through the interactive software platform weAdapt; communication of research findings (e.g. the magazine Tiempo and the new journal Climate and Development); and research on the possible social and environmental implications of the increased use of biofuels (e.g. conflicts between fuel and food production).

This flagship programme has received funding from the Swedish International Development Agency for the period 2006–2009.
