About SEI Oxford
The SEI Oxford group works on issues of adaptive management and governance, particularly related to climatic risks and vulnerabilities, with expertise in water, food security, disaster risk reduction and livelihoods. We also have a growing contribution to the economics of climate vulnerability, impacts and adaptation.
SEI Oxford is rapidly extending its expertise and skills from knowledge generation into an expanded set of knowledge services, taking an integrated approach to developing and supporting networks of information users and producers, linked with appropriate technologies, for shaping and transferring relevant content.
One of our ongoing initiatives is developing weADAPT, a collaborative platform for climate adaptation. This involves developing novel approaches to link risk of future climate change, viewed within a multi-stressor vulnerability context, to robust adaptation actions.
The Oxford office is also contributing to various networks on climate adaptation. The SEI in Oxford works closely with the United Nations Environment Programme, including work on the cost of adaptation in Africa and scientific and technical support to the Global Adaptation Network. As a knowledge partner with the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership, the Oxford team contributes to the development and application of weADAPT 3.0 throughout the world.
