EcoSanRes consultant wins award for sanitation work in Africa

The African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) honour Dr Peter Morgan for innovative technical ideas in sanitation and hygiene.

Morgan, who for four decades has provided Africa with the most innovative technical ideas in sanitation and hygiene directly affecting poor people, was praised for his work at the AMCOW AfricaSan Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa.

A long-time consultant for SEI’s Ecological Sanitation Research programme, Peter Morgan is the author of the book Toilets That Make Compost, which describes the fundamental principles of ecological sanitationand provides a detailed description of how to build and manage a small range of lower-cost eco-toilets.
