Workshop organised by Stockholm Environment Institute and Institute for Management of Innovation and Technology:

This Workshop invites scholarly contributions on the analysis of governance arrangements aimed at fostering more sustainable technological innovations in the road transport sector, such as biofuels, hybrid-electric vehicles and hydrogen / fuel cells.

The papers may be theoretical in nature and also address general issues in transport sector innovation, but of particular interest are empirical analyses on one or more specific technological systems within road transport for one or several countries or regions, covering Europe, North America, and East Asia.

As a result of the workshop we envision an international edited book volume with a comparative approach across these regions, addressing a common set of questions such as:

- What governance arrangements are in place to nurture sustainable technological innovation?

- How and why have these arrangements developed?

- How do the governance arrangements affect the development and uptake of technological innovations?
